HuskerVision

HuskerVision

HuskerVision is housed in the state-of-the-art Michael Grace Production Studio located on the concourse level of West Stadium. Made possible by a generous donation in honor of former football player and NU Foundation fundraiser Michael Grace, this area includes office space to accommodate 10 full-time employees and a staff of 25 or more student assistants. In addition, a broadcast quality control room, three non-linear editing rooms and a television production studio to allow the HuskerVision staff to produce a multitude of video productions.

The HuskerVision staff recenlty earned the fifth-annual SVG/NACDA Technology Leadership Award in 2017. The Technology Leadership Award is presented to the university athletics department that meets the outlined criteria of commitment to the investment in and execution of broadcast and video infrastructure and technologies.

Aside from live game entertainment HuskerVision also works to produce Nebraska Athletics Television content that airs nationally on the Big Ten Network as well as through local affiliates. Over 100 fully produced television shows each year provide national exposure to Nebraska athletics.

Nebraska was the nation's first college football team to have instant replay boards at an exclusive college venue back in 1994. In 2006, as part of the Memorial Stadium Expansion project that added the Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex and more than 6,500 seats to the North end of the stadium, HuskerVision opened a new era with the addition of a massive screen atop the North Stadium. The new Mitsubishi screen replay screen is one of the largest in any college stadium in the United States, measuring 117-feet 7 1/8-inches wide by 33-feet-7 3/16-inches high, roughly five times the width of the original screens inside Memorial Stadium. Overall, approximately 10 of the old replay boards would fit inside Nebraska's new screen. During the summer of 2017, all of the video screens in Memorial Stadium were upgraded. The north towers have new 10 mm screens that face the field and also screens that wrap around the towers and face the north stands. The main screen was also upgraded to 10 mm. There are a total of six video replay boards in the stadium. The ribbon boards on the east and west balconies were replaced with 16 mm displays that run the full length of the balconies. An additional ribbon board was added to the middle east balcony.
