Nebraska Men's Swimming & Diving All-Americans

Nebraska Men's Swimming & Diving All-Americans

A total of 63 student-athletes from around the world earned men's swimming and diving NCAA All-America honors as Huskers between 1921 and 2001. Nebraska's men's swimming and diving All-Americans came to Lincoln from 13 states across the country and nine foreign countries. A total of 16 Husker men's and swimming diving All-Americans were Nebraska natives, while NU's world-wide reach included All-Americans from South Africa (10), Canada (4), Australia (2), Spain (2), Sweden (2), the Dominican Republic (1), Holland (1), Latvia (1) and Scotland (1).

In all, Huskers have combined for 226 All-America awards, while 43 Huskers have been multi-time All-Americans.

Adam Pine owns the distinction of earning the most All-America certificates as a Husker swimmer with 19 awards from 1997 to 2000.  Pine, who was Nebraska's only NCAA champion in men's swimming and diving, captured the 2000 NCAA title in the 100 butterfly in a then NCAA- and U.S. Open-record time of 51.23. That same year, Pine earned Olympic gold and silver medals in relay competition for his home country of Australia. Pine was one of three Husker men's swimmers in history to earn 10 or more NCAA All-America honors, joining Peter Williams (14) and Mike Irvin (10) as the most decorated swimmers in Husker history.

Danny Bergman headlines a distinguished group of Nebraska men's diving All-America award winners, capturing six honors from 1997 to 1999. Lawrence Roddick (One-Meter, 1988) and Kevin McMahon (Three-Meter, 1993) each produced third-place finishes on the boards during their careers as the top-finishing NCAA divers in Husker men's history.
