A total of 88 Husker men's swimmers and divers combined for 191 individual conference championships (does not include relay titles) since Frank Mockler and Greg Waldo claimed Nebraska's first titles in 1929.
Sean Frampton (Cape Town, South Africa) and Mike Irvin (Riverside, Calif.) own the Nebraska record with seven conference individual event titles each. Irvin and Frampton are also the only Husker men in history to sweep a conference event title in four consecutive seasons. Irvin was the first to accomplish the feat by winning the Big Eight Conference 200 Individual Medley in 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989. Frampton followed suit, winning the 100 Breaststroke crown in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990 for the Huskers.
The individual performances of the Big Red swimmers helped Nebraska sweep 15 consecutive Big Eight Conference team titles from 1980 through 1994.
