Huskers Continue Homestand With Drake Doubleheader - Huskers.com - Nebraska Athletics Official Web Site

The fifth-ranked Nebraska softball team (20-7) continues its seven-game homestand today when it plays host to Drake in a doubleheader at 3 & 5 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium. The Huskers are in the midst of a 14-day stretch in which they play 11 games, including five against teams from the Missouri Valley Conference.

NU defeated MVC foe Wichita State Monday, 2-1, to kick off the stretch. Freshman right-handed pitcher Summer Tobias (10-2) tallied a career-best seven strikeouts in the win, and junior right-handed pitcher Peaches James picked up her first save of 2003 after holding the Shockers scoreless on two hits in the final two innings. Senior catcher Amber Burgess led NU at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI.
