Lincoln -- After 20 straight contests and six weeks on the road, the third-ranked Nebraska softball team begins its home slate this week when it plays host to two doubleheaders at Bowlin Stadium. The Huskers will face Missouri-Kansas City (3-12) at 3 & 5 p.m. Tuesday before opening Big 12 Conference action against No. 6 Oklahoma (24-3) at 4 & 6 p.m. Thursday in Lincoln.
This weekend, NU continues league play when it travels to Texas A&M (20-10) March 22-23. Nebraska will face the Aggies at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Nebraska is coming off a 2-2 showing at the Kia Classic March 13-14. NU suffered upset losses to No. 13 DePaul and unranked Fresno State, but defeated Notre Dame to finish pool play 1-2. In the rain-shortened championship bracket, the Huskers bounced back to defeat tournament host No. 9 Cal State Fullerton, 6-5, in extra innings March 14. With the victory, Nebraska secured its best 20-game start ever.
After switching the lineup slightly at the Kia Classic, NU Coach Rhonda Revelle may continue the experiment this week. Revelle moved junior outfielder Nicole Trimboli from right field to first base for three of the Huskers
