Nebraska Softball Signs Four Prep Standouts for 2003-04 Season - Huskers.com - Nebraska Athletics Official Web Site

Nebraska softball coach Rhonda Revelle announced Wednesday that four prep standouts have signed national letters-of-intent to attend the University of Nebraska and compete for the Huskers during the 2003-04 season. The class includes pitcher Ashley DeBuhr of Beatrice, Neb., outfielder Ashley Eoriatti of Omaha, Neb., shortstop Devin Porter of Long Beach, Calif., and catcher Jamie Waldecker of Garden Grove, Calif.

"Every one of our signees this year has played on a team that has had tremendous successes," NU Coach Rhonda Revelle said, "and they were all significant contributors to those achievements. Winning is second nature to them already because they have come from highly successful programs. It is a great combination for Nebraska softball. We look for talented, team-oriented, academically-strong kids."

Eoriatti, a four year letterwinner at Millard West, will actually join the Huskers next semester and will redshirt the 2003 spring season. An excellent student, Eoriatti owns a 3.6 grade-point average and has accumulated enough credits to graduate from Millard West in December. She will enroll at the university full-time next semester.

The most decorated softball player in the state this year, Eoriatti is a four-time Omaha World-Herald First-Team All-Nebraska honoree and a three-time Lincoln Journal Star Super-State pick. Eoriatti is a four-time member of the All-Metro team and was the honorary captain in 2001 and 2002. As a senior this fall, Eoriatti hit .478 with a .748 slugging percentage. She has 24 hits with runners in scoring position, 32 runs scored, 30 RBIs and 13 doubles. Eoriatti, who has also competed nationally at ASA nationals and AFA nationals, owns the Millard West school record for most consecutive games with a hit at 26, and she was the first player to hit a home run at Millard West
