Brink Named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

Dallas, Texas -- Nebraska's Heather Brink was named Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week after winning the all-around with a score of 39.375 against No. 10 Iowa State.

Her all-around score was the eighth-best total in school history and she also earned first-place honors on vault (9.925) and uneven bars (9.85), while finishing second on floor exercise (9.85).

In the Super Six Challenge two weeks ago, the Lincoln, Neb., senior finished ninth in the all-around with a score of 38.625 against a field that included the top four teams in the country and six of the top nine. Brink also placed eighth on vault (9.80) and uneven bars (9.85).

Brink and the Huskers return to action this Friday, as Nebraska travels to Ariel Sands, Bermuda to compete in the Bermuda Triangle Challenge, beginning at 5 p.m.
