Bolt Leads NU to Sweep of Arkansas

Fayetteville, Ark. -- Will Bolt had five hits to help Nebraska complete a two-game sweep of Arkansas with a 10-3 win Wednesday at Baum Stadium.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Cornhuskers (12-6) and third of the season against the Razorbacks (13-9). Nebraska defeated the Hogs 13-2 on Feb. 20 at the Arlington Morning News Invitational and opened the two-game series in Fayetteville with a 10-4 win on Tuesday.

Bolt's five hits - including a school-record-tying three doubles - led a 14-hit Nebraska barrage while three Cornhusker pitchers combined to hold UA to just five hits, tying its low for the season.

In his first start of the season, NU pitcher Brian Rodaway (1-0) held the Razorbacks scoreless through five innings before leaving with no outs in the sixth. Rodaway was charged with three runs (earned), two on Jeff Hoefler's pinch-hit single off NU reliever Steve Hale. It was the only hit allowed by the Husker bullpen as Hale and Brandon Penas combined for four innings of scoreless relief.

UA starter Brad Bohannan (2-1) gave up two runs (earned) on four hits in four innings and suffered his first loss of the season.

Nebraska led 2-0 after five innings before adding six runs on five hits and three Razorback errors in the top of the sixth. Arkansas answered in the bottom of the inning, scoring its first run on a bases-loaded walk by Rodaway and Hoefler's two-run single.

Justin Cowan's two-run single in the seventh provided the Huskers' final runs.

The Huskers begin a three-game series with Oklahoma this Friday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Buck Beltzer Stadium.
