Storrs, Conn. -- Forward Christine Latham and midfielder Meghan Anderson each scored a goal as the third-ranked Nebraska soccer team continued its winning ways Friday, defeating Dartmouth, 2-0, before a crowd of 176 at the UConn Classic. The Huskers improved to 7-0-0 on the season, while the Big Green, an NCAA Tournament team a year ago, fell to 1-1-0.
Latham got the Huskers started at 7:45 with her eighth goal of the season on a pass from Kelly Rheem to the center of the mid box. NU didn't score again until the second half, when Meghan Anderson put a corner kick in the net at 46:57.
Dartmouth outshot the Huskers 12-10, but NU outcornered the Big Green 7-2.
"It was a decent performance," Nebraska Head Coach John Walker said. "It was a good hard win on the road. But we have a long ways to go. It's a long season. We just have to keep improving."
Senior goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc recorded five saves and improved to 7-0 on the season.
"I thought Karina was excellent the whole game," Walker said. "The defense as a whole did really well in the second half. It just wasn't a pretty game."
The Huskers will take the field again in the Uconn Classic on Sunday in an 11 a.m. contest with 20th-ranked Connecticut at Morrone Stadium.
