Snyder Earns Big 12 Wrestler of the Week Honors

DALLAS - Nebraska junior Bryan Snyder was selected Big 12 Wrestler of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday.

Snyder has led the No. 8 Huskers to a 6-0 start and is the team leader in dual takedowns (39). The two-time All-America choice and two-time Big 12 champion is also tied for the team lead in wins, pins (4) and technical falls (3).

The 157-pounder pinned Missouri's Jesse Jordan to give Nebraska a much needed boost in a 21-17 win over the Tigers. The week before, he posted a crucial technical fall over Ohio State's Josh Janson in NU's 20-19 victory over the No. 15 Buckeyes. Snyder also easily defeated seventh-ranked Eric Jorgenson of Oregon State (9-4) to help secure the Huskers' 23-10 win over No. 14 Oregon State.

Snyder stands at 12-0 overall, 6-0 in dual meets and 1-0 in against Big 12 competition. The Huskers return to the wrestling mat Jan. 6, 2001 at the Lone Star Duals in Grand Prairie, Texas.
