Lincoln -- The University of Nebraska Head Coach Mark Manning announced that three wrestlers have signed a National Letter-of-Intent to wrestler for the Huskers in 2002-03.
The signees include Matt Murray of Colby Community College, B.J. Wright of Ricks Community College and Brent Pankoke of Beaver Crossing, Neb.
"I think we have an excellent recruiting class for the upcoming season. We have kids that are really going to fit into our program really well." Manning said
Murry is two-time Kansas High School State Champion and a 2002 Junior College All-American. Murry finished the season ranked first in the 141-pound weight class according to themat.com.
Wright also brings an impressive resume to the Huskers as a two-time Junior College All-American and three-time Utah High School State Champion. Wright finished the season ranked third in the 157-pound weight class according to themat.com.
Pankoke is a three-time state qualifier from Centennial High School.
Murray, Wright and Pankoke join Chad Sportelli, Matt Keller and Marc Harwood in Nebraska's 2002 recruiting class. All three signed with the Huskers during the early signing period.
"I'm really excited about the quality of the young men we have recruited." Manning said. "I think this class bodes well for the future of our program."
