Lincoln - The Nebraska softball team opens fall practice on Tuesday, Sept. 8, officially marking the first day of the fall season. NU will practice for nearly three weeks before competing in the first of three tournaments this fall.
The Huskers return six starters from last year’s team that posted a 45-17 record and captured both the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles.
"Everyone is really excited about starting practice," NU Head Coach Rhonda Revelle said. "The coaches have seen players working hard the last few weeks, and there is a lot of enthusiasm right now."
Nebraska is scheduled to play 14 games this fall, beginning with the Augustana (S.D.) Tournament, Sept. 25-26 in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Huskers will then head to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Michigan Tournament, Oct. 2-3.
The fall season will conclude with the annual Husker Fall Classic Oct. 9-10 at Bowlin Stadium.
