The Huskers’ 614 team total leaves them 27 shots behind tournament leader Texas-Arlington and 10 shots out of sixth place in the 17-team field.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
The Huskers posted a 304 in the morning round on the strength of a 74 by Judd Cornell and a three-over par 75 by Brady Schnell. In the afternoon session, Nebraska did not post a round of 75 or lower. Schnell’s 76 was the Huskers’ lowest score on the 7,105, par-72 layout. Cornell was one of three Huskers to shoot a 78 in the afternoon and dropped back in the field.
Schnell is Nebraska’s top individual after two rounds as his 151 total places him in a tie for 24th place. Cornell is a shot back at 152 and is tied for 30th position. Sophomore Tom Bethel (77-78, 155, tie 52nd), freshman Chris Bruening (78-78?156, tie 58th) and sophomore Drew Reynolds (80-79?159, tie 71st) rounded out the Husker lineup.
The tournament, Nebraska’s fifth of sixth during the fall schedule, concludes with the final 18 holes on Tuesday morning at Squire Creek Golf Club.
