<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Lincoln ? The Nebraska softball team scored two runs in the first inning and held on for a 3-2 victory over Texas Tech on Sunday to give NU Head Coach Rhonda Revelle her 500th career victory at Nebraska in front of 571 fans at Bowlin Stadium.
Revelle became just the third coach of any sport in school history to record 500 career victories earlier this season when Nebraska defeated Cal-State Fullerton on March 19. She now has a 508-269 career record overall and a 500-254 mark at NU.

Nebraska evened its Big 12 record at 5-5 with the win and improved to 27-15 overall. Sophomore right-hander Ashley DeBuhr tossed her fourth complete game of the week and picked up her third victory of the week to improve to 17-13 on the season. DeBuhr allowed two runs on four hits, while striking out five.
Julie Hauck (1-5) took the loss for Texas Tech despite allowing only one earned run in 5.1 innings, as a Red Raider error accounted for NU’s first two runs.
Just as it did on Saturday, NU took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Senior Anne Steffan reached on an error to get things started before junior Jessica Yoachim reached on an infield single. Steffan tried to score from second on the play, but was thrown out at home. Yoachim advanced to second on the throw home and moved up to third base when junior Elizabeth Rock recorded another infield single. Rock then stole second to put runners at second and third for junior Trisha Tannahill, who brought Yoachim home with an RBI ground out. Rock then put the Huskers up 2-0 when she scored following a wild pitch.
Texas Tech threatened to tie the game in the top of the third. Jennifer Bowers led off with an infield single and advanced to second when Lisa Lawler put down a bunt and wound up reaching on a fielder’s choice. The runners advanced to second and third on a sacrifice from Heather Parker, but DeBuhr coaxed a pop out and a strikeout to end the threat.
In the bottom of the inning, NU added its third run of the game. The Huskers loaded the bases on consecutive singles from Yoachim, Rock and Tannahill. Yoachim then scored her second run of the game on an RBI ground out from senior Sheena Lawrick.
The Red Raiders plated their first run in the top of the fifth. Bowers led off with a triple to center field and scored on a sacrifice fly from Lawler one batter later.
Tech added another run in the sixth inning to close the gap to 3-2. Whitney Riley led off with a double, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a sacrifice fly from Kelly Rhyne.
Offensively for Nebraska, Rock enjoyed her second straight perfect day at the plate, finishing 3-for-3, while Yoachim finished 2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Nebraska returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Kansas at 6 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium.
