Huskers Place 17 on Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll

Lincoln - Seventeen members of the Nebraska swimming and diving team earned recognition from the conference for their academic accomplishments by being named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll.

The number is five more than the 12 members the Huskers put on the Honor Roll for the 2004-05 Fall semester, and the most since Head Coach Pablo Morales began his career at Nebraska in 2001.

Juniors Alex King and Becky Johnson led the class by earning the honor for the sixth consecutive semester.  Johnson was one of three Huskers to attain a grade-point-average of 4.0, along with sophomores Emilee Crawford and Abby Fitzpatrick.  The honor was Crawford's fourth in a row.

Three juniors (Amie Buoy, Esmie Holderman and Rachel Schlatter) earned honors for the fifth time in their careers.

The Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the previous semester.  Overall, Nebraska had 274 student-athletes named to the spring honor roll, including 37 who produced perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the spring semester.
