Tampa, Fla. - Junior Brady Schnell finished eight individually after posting his first career hole-in-one in the first round and an eagle later in the tournament to lead the Nebraska men's golf team to a third-place finish at the Dick Witcoff/South Florida Invitational on Sunday.
Schnell's performance on the 6,830-yard, par-71 <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>University of South Florida Golf Course helped the Huskers post a final team score of 882 (288-298-296), including three individual rounds at or under par.

Schnell’s final score of 218 (67-80-71) included his first-ever hole-in-one in the first round as well as a final round at-par, and left him in a tie for eighth. Schnell also finished with one eagle, eight birdies and only two-over in par-4 scoring.
Junior Drew Reynolds was right behind Schnell with a final score of 219 (69-75-75), leaving him in 12fth place.
Senior Judd Cornell finished in a tie for 27th with a final score of 224 (79-72-73) while snagging nine birdies and also finishing just two-over in par-4 scoring.
Junior Ryan Lenahan finished with a 226 (75-74-77), placing him in a tie for 36th. Lenahan also had one eagle and finished one-under par on par-5 scoring.
Junior Ty Capps rounded out the Husker lineup with a 231 (77-77-77), finishing in a tie for 70th.
Middle Tennessee State won the tournament with a final score of 871 (288-294-289), while New Orleans finished in second with an 872 (291-290-291). Missouri State (298-298-292) and Florida Southern College (295-301-292) tied at 888 to round out the top five teams in the tournament.
The Huskers follow the weekend’s action with the Ron Moore Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., on March 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
