<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska men’s golf team travels to Tulsa, Okla,April 24-25, for the 2006 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championships, to be played at the Southern Hills Country Club for the second time in conference history.
Nebraska’s lineup includes freshman Trent Price, juniors Brady Schnell, Drew Reynolds and Ty Capps, and senior Judd Cornell.
The first day pairings for the 2006 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship have been determined by a poll voted on by the league's head coaches.
The tournament will be a total of 54 holes to be played over two days with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday following the final round. Teams will tee off the first and 10th tees at 8 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. each day.
Pairings for the first round include Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa State teeing off No. 1 at 8 a.m. followed by Colorado, Missouri and Kansas State at 8:50 a.m. Baylor, Texas and Oklahoma will begin on the 10th tee at 8 a.m. followed by Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech at 8:50 a.m.
Pairings for the second round of the first day will remain the same, but will switch starting tees. Second day pairings will be based on first day results and placed in a horseshoe arrangement.

NU’s Schnell Earns Academic All-Big 12 Honors
Lincoln? The Big 12 Conference named 36 student-athletes to the 2006 Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Golf team, the league office announced on April 19.
Among those honored was Omaha native and junior Brady Schnell, a political science major who earned first-team honors by maintaining a 3.20 or better GPA.
According to the Big 12 office, the academic all-league men’s golf squad consisted of 27 first-team members combined with nine on the second team. Members are nominated by each institutions director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
