The par-70, 7,055-yard course, home to the U.S. Open in 2001, is playing host to the Big 12 Championships for the second time in conference history.
The Huskers posted a team score of 291 through the first round, leaving them just two strokes out of a spot in the top three.
Oklahoma leads the tournament currently with a total of seven over par with 3-6 holes remaining, while Texas Tech stands in second with 10-over par and 6-9 holes remaining. Texas is just behind with 11-over par and 3-6 holes remaining, while Texas A&M rounds out the top five with 18-over par and 6-9 holes remaining.
The tournament was scheduled to go through two rounds today before rain and lightening delayed the completion of the second round.
Depending on their start times, players have completed anywhere between nine and 15 holes, with some starting on the front nine and some on the back nine. The Huskers stand in fifth place with a first-round score of 291 combined with being only 10-over par in the second round for a total of 21-over par with three to six holes remaining in the second round.
Junior Brady Schnell led the team and the tournament through the first round with a score of 68 and now stands in a tie for fifth with a total score of 118, or one-over par through 30 holes.
Senior Judd Cornell posted a 72 in the first round and has caught up to Schnell through the first 12 holes of the second round to also place in a tie for fifth with a one-over par score of 118 through 30 holes.
Junior Drew Reynolds stands in third for the team and is tied for 39th as he finished with a score of 74 in the first round and stands at 10-over par through 30 holes with a total score of 127.
Junior Ty Capps has rebounded after shooting a 79 in the first round and stands in 49th place through 30 holes with an 11-over par total score of 128 through 30 holes.
Freshman Trent Price rounds out the Husker lineup, shooting a 77 in the first round and finishing with a 14-over par total score of 143 for a 57th-place tie.
