Flying with the Blue Angels

Lincoln ? Nebraska Head Coach John Cook had a once-in-a-lifetime experience on Wednesday, as he flew with one of the Navy Blue Angels pilots in a Boeing F/A 18 Hornet.

“This has been a surreal day,” Cook said immediately following the flight. “It is almost unimaginable to fly in one of those planes. You get an appreciation on how great these pilots are. They are truly unbelievable.”

Cook talked extensively about Wednesday's flight in his post-match press conference that fans can listen to by clicking here. In addition to today's photo gallery, you will be able to see more of Cook's flight on the Husker volleyball show later this month.

"We are trying to be the best of the best with our team, and that is what these guys are. For me, there is a lot of connection with what these guys do, and that is something we try to instill in our program."

Fans will be able to see more of the Navy Blue Angels this weekend at the Nebraska Air Show this weekend. Admission is free and the event includes serveral performers, including the U.S. Army Golden Knights and an F-16 Demonstration team.
