<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska swept the high jump competitions, as junior Dusty Jonas (7-2) won the men’s event and freshman Epley Bullock (5-10) claimed the women’s title. Jonas’ mark earned him a regional qualification in his first attempt during the outdoor season.

NU also won both pole vault crowns with senior Gable Baldwin (16-8 ?) taking the men’s event and junior Jenny Green and sophomore Brysun Stately sharing the women’s event title with identical 12-8 clearances. Each of the three performances in the pole vault registered as regional qualifications in Nebraska’s first try at the event outdoors this season.

Senior Daniel Roper fell just one centimeter shy of the regional mark in his first appearance outdoors in 2007, as he won the men’s triple jump at 49-2 ?, while freshman Leandra McGruder won both the women’s long jump (18-7) and triple jump (39-11 ?).

Adding event titles for Nebraska were: senior Ashley Selig (1:02.50) in the women’s 400-meter hurdles; junior Thorin Meyer (177-8); in the men’s javelin; and senior Jeni Steiner in both the women’s shot put (50-3 ?) and discus (152-10). Steiner’s shot put marked her first time during the outdoor season breaking 50 feet in the event.

Nebraska continues its busy week with four meets on the schedule this weekend. Several Husker combined events athletes will compete in the Audrey Walton Multi-Events Thursday through Friday in Columbia, Mo., while three Husker distance runners will travel to the west coast for the the Mt.
