Lee was a standout swimmer at OxfordHigh School, earning the class 4A state championship in the 50-yard freestyle and runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke her senior season to lead Oxford to a second-place team finish. She was also part of the Charger relay team that broke the Mississippi state record in the 200 medley relay.

As a member of the Shockwave club team, Lee competed at the United States Swimming Championships in February, taking first in the 50 free, second in both the 100 butterfly and 100 free and third in the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley.

Lee will be the first Mississippi native on the Husker swimming and diving team under Morales, and joins a freshmen class of eight that signed with Nebraska during the fall period, including Jess Andrews (Gillette, Wyo./Campbell County), Mariesa Cloud (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma), Julie Giehl (Boulder, Colo./Fairview), Kelsey Grushecky (West Newton, Pa./Yough), Blaine Hoppenrath (Kansas City, Mo./Liberty), Brandie Kavalec (Loveland, Colo./Mountain View), Meredith Matthies (Wichita, Kan./Kapaun Mount Carmel) and Rachel McClain (Henderson, Nev./Coronado).
