Huskers Place 66 on Big 12 Spring Honor Roll

<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>LINCOLN ? The Nebraska track and field teams were honored for their success in the classroom this week when 66 current and former student-athletes earned recognition on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll. Athletes must earn a 3.0 grade-point average to qualify for the award.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

                                     

Thirty-four Husker women’s athletes were recognized for their academic accomplishments, including 10 with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages: Joslyn Dalton, Ashlee Dickinson, Jenny Green, Sarah Lyons, Bridget Meduna, Betsy Miller, Janae Mueller, Kim Pancoast, Justine Roach and Kim Shubert.

 

Husker seniors Ashley Selig and Dickinson made the honor roll for the 10th consecutive semester.

 

Junior Issar Yazhbin led a men’s track and field group of 32 honorees, as he posted a 4.0 GPA during the spring for the seventh consecutive semester. Three other Husker men?D.J. Kohlhaase, Eric Lund and Lee Martin?also added perfect efforts in the classroom.

 

Martin earned his 10th consecutive spot on the Big 12 honor roll, while former Husker cross country captain Bryce Dickmeyer was tabbed for the eighth straight semester.

 

Overall, Nebraska had 255 student-athletes named to the fall honor roll, including 46 who produced perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester.
