Highlighted by perfect 4.0 grade-point averages from Amie Buoy, Kelsey Ida, Bailey Ingles and Sarah Ziegelmann, the Huskers surpassed their previous high of 20, set in the Fall of 2006.
“I am very proud of our girls for the hard work they have shown in handling their athletic commitments while achieving at this high level in the classroom,” Head Coach Pablo Morales said. “They are the ones who deserve all the credit for this great accomplishment. They set a goal to achieve academic success as a team, so it is great to end the year with this recognition.”
Senior Emilee Crawford was awarded for an impressive eighth consecutive semester, while five other seniors earned the required 3.0 GPA in their final semesters as Huskers, including Lauren Bailey, Bailey Ingles, Casey Schnack, Danielle Stansbury and Kate Wheeler. It marked the seventh award in eight semesters for Bailey, Ingles, Schnack and Stansbury.
Equally impressive was Nebraska’s entire sophomore class, as each of the five members were named to the team in C.J. Bray, Courtney Jolly, Jenna Stroud, Jenny Toler and Christina Yemm.
Aside from Buoy, who completed her eligibility in 2006, two other former Huskers who were still enrolled at UNL the past semester also gained accolades in Kate Dulgar and Diana Torres.
A total of 255 Nebraska student-athletes across all sports claimed spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll, including 46 who achieved a 4.0 grade-point average.
Overall for the academic year, Nebraska student-athletes earned 525 spots on the Big 12 fall and spring honor rolls, including 79 perfect 4.0 semesters.
