The Husker Wrestling Club will host a golf scramble and booster club kickoff on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Woodland Hills Golf Course in Eagle, Neb. The annual event allows members of Husker Nation to meet and greet Nebraska’s wrestling team while getting a preview of the upcoming 2007-08 season.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Fans can visit with Husker Head Coach Mark Manning and members of NU’s wrestling squad as they make their way around the links. Pin prizes are up for grabs at each hole and mulligans are available.
The $80 fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart fees, GPS yardage system and electronic scoring. Golfers will then enjoy supper and receive a Husker t-shirt and gift bag, all included in the fee. For $20, fans can choose to attend just the supper, but still receive the t-shirt and gift bag.
The action kicks off with a shotgun start at 2 p.m., while the dinner commences at 7 p.m.
Individuals or businesses can also support the team with a hole sponsorship. Sponsors can choose from the bronze ($100), silver ($250) or gold ($500) levels. Benefits range from signage on the course to advertisement space on the Husker Wrestling Club’s web page.
