Huskers Finish Fourth at NCAA Championships

<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>St. Louis ? With Saturday’s conclusion of Session VI of the NCAA Championships, the Nebraska wrestling team wrapped up fourth place in the team race, finishing with five All-Americans and as the top Big 12 team. NU’s finish is its highest since a third-place showing in 1993. The Huskers have finished in the top 10 in the nation 11 times.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

Junior Paul Donahoe (125) and sophomore Jordan Burroughs (149) both claimed third place, while junior Brandon Browne (174) and sophomore Craig Brester (197) finished fourth. Sophomore Stephen Dwyer earned eighth place as the Huskers crowned their most All-Americans since 1995.

 

Head Coach Mark Manning has coached 23 Huskers to All-America status in his eight years at Nebraska. Manning has led NU to four top-10 team finishes.
