Larson and Gates Crowned Queens of the Beach

Lincoln ? Jordan Larson and Amanda Gates took home the title as Queens of the Beach as the Nebraska volleyball team wrapped up spring practices with their annual beach tournament at the Hawks Championship Center Sand Court.

Larson and Gates brought home the title of the two-day event, defeating the team of Tara Mueller and Kori Cooper, 21-11, 21-17 on Thursday afternoon.

"The level of play was outstanding by both teams, but Jordan and Amanda were more aggressive and made the plays when they had to," said assistant coach Lizzy Stemke. "It was a fun way to wrap up a very productive spring season."

The individual tournament took place Wednesday with Larson and Mueller winning their respective pools. By virtue of their pool-play wins, they were able to choose their partners for the championship match.

The Huskers will conclude the spring with the Volleyball 101 event on Friday before turning their attention to spring semester finals in two weeks.
