As part of its "The Best of...." series, CBS College Sports selected Nebraska as the 10th-winningest softball program of the NCAA era (1982-present) in 2007.
One of only 10 teams nationally to record 900 wins in the first 25 years softball was an NCAA sport (1982 to 2006), the Huskers owned an all-time NCAA record of 943-487 (.659) following the 2007 season, when the list was announced. The Huskers have since won more than 1,000 NCAA games.
In addition to ranking in the top 10 in wins in NCAA history, Nebraska enters the 2013 season with top-10 rankings in NCAA history in NCAA Tournament appearances, NCAA Tournament victories and Women's College World Series appearances. Nebraska has also produced more CoSIDA Academic All-Americans than any other softball program in NCAA history.
