Lincoln ?Behind a pair of former Huskers, the United States remained perfect in pool play at the Pan American Cup, sweeping Mexico, 25-19, 25-14, 25-11, Sunday evening in Miami.
Team USA (3-0) was led by Nancy Metcalf, who led the United States with a match-high 20 points, including 16 kills, three blocks and a service ace. This is Metcalf’s first national team appearance since 2007 after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Jordan Larson, who is making her U.S. National Team debut this week chipped in 11 points, on 10 kills and a block, while U.S. Olympian Danielle Scott-Arruda also had 11 points in the win.
United States plays Peru (2-1) at 7 p.m. (Central) Monday, the fourth of five consecutive pool play matches before the classification round.
