Hungerford Earns Nebraska Degree

Former Husker soccer forward Meghan Hungerford will receive her bachelor's degree in nutritional science and dietetics during graduation ceremonies at the Devaney Center on Saturday.

Hungerford was a three-year letterwinner for Nebraska from 2004 to 2007 and earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll seven times during her career. The Manhattan, Kan., native was also a first-team academic All-Big 12 selection in 2005.

On the field, Hungerford was an immediate contributor for head coach John Walker's squad. As a freshman, she started each of Nebraska's three NCAA Tournament games in 2004 and saw action in 14 of 23 games during the season. Hungerford had her best game in her sophomore campaign, scoring two goals in a 6-0 win at Oral Roberts. She was hampered by injuries in 2006, but returned to the field in 2007 and played in five games for the Huskers

Hungerford is among 17 Husker student-athletes who will be receiving a degree on Saturday.
