Despite solid performances from Jordan Larson and Nancy Metcalf, the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team fell to Germany for the second time in as many weeks, falling 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 27-25) Sunday at the FIVB World Grand Prix.
Larson helped the United States (2-4) with eight points on six kills and a pair of blocks, while Metcalf chipped in six points on five kills and a block.
The United States currently is in eighth place after the first two preliminary rounds with the top five teams and host Japan advancing to the finals after next week’s round.
Through the first two weekends, Larson leads Team USA in service receptions ? ranking 12th among all players ? and tied for second on Team USA with 55 points through the six contests.
Team USA finishes preliminary play next weekend in Bangkok, Thailand.
