Lincoln - Behind four Top 100 prospects and a pair of NHSAA national champions, InterMat Wrestle has ranked Nebraska's incoming 2010 recruiting class sixth in the nation. The distinguished wrestling source tabbed Iowa with the best class, followed by Penn State, Northwestern, Minnesota and Iowa State.
InterMat ranked four of Nebraska's incoming recruits in its national Top 100, headlined by 19th-ranked Keith Surber of O'Fallon, Ill. Surber (130 pounds) and 64th-ranked Brandon Wilbourn (152 pounds) of O'Fallon, Mo., were each crowned champions at March's 2010 National High School Athletic Association Senior National Championships in Virginia Beach, Va. At the same tournament, 39th-ranked Robert Kokesh of Wagner, S.D. finished third at 160 pounds, while Matt Dwyer of Rockton, Ill., claimed a runner-up finish at 215 pounds. Greg Amos of Holt, Mo. rounds out Nebraska's Top 100 recruits at No. 87.
In November, head coach Mark Manning and the NU staff announced a nine-signee class that also includes Blake Meeks (Des Moines, Iowa), Cody Magrew (Wentzville, Mo.), Chad Stroh (Holyoke, Colo.) and Ryne Harris (Belleville, Ill.). Since then, the Huskers added Shawn Nagel (Kimball, Neb.) and Brandon Rubino (St. Charles, Ill.).
