No. 7 Huskers Fall to No. 2 Stanford

Lincoln - Five Huskers posted career-high scores, but the No. 7 Nebraska men's gymnastics team fell to No. 2 Stanford, 359.000-347.600 Sunday at the Devaney Center.

"Overall I'm happy with our performance as a team," Nebraska Coach Chuck Chmelka said. "We didn't do well at Iowa, esepcially on pommel horse, but today we rebounded and looked a lot better."

The Huskers started off the day on floor, earning a 57.250. Sophomore Andreas Hofer posted the top individual score with a 14.550. Freshman Andrew House hit a career-high 14.000. Stanford senior Josh Dixon took home the event title with a 15.600.

Eric Schryver once again led Nebraska on pommel horse, scoring a 14.550. Michael Killeen earned a career-high 12.550. As a team, Nebraska scored a 55.450 on the event. Freshman Wyatt Aycock hit a career-high 13.950. Stanford sophomore John Martin won the event title with a 15.100.

"Considering how we competed last week, I was very happy with our pommel horse performance today," Chmelka said.

Senior Anthony Ingrelli led the NU rings team to a 56.500 team score. Ingrelli scored a team-high 15.150, which earned him a third-place finish. Shryver tied his career high with a 13.500.

On vault, Aycock led the Huskers to their highest team score of the day with a career-high 15.800 to tie for third. House added a career-high of his own with a 15.600. The Huskers earned a team score of 62.400. Stanford senior Tim Gentry took the vault title with a 16.20.

Three Huskers notched season highs on parallel bars, including two career-high scores. Senior Bear Danley tied Aycock for the top score by NU gymnasts on the parallel bars with a 14.450. Hofer, hit a season-high 14.40, David Jacobs notched a season high of his with a 13.95. Stanford senior Ryan Lieberman collected the Cardinal's fifth event title of the day with a 15.50 on parallel bars.

The Huskers finished out the night on the high bar, as Hofer led NU with a season-high 14.950. Jacobs posted his second career high of the night with a 14.85. Schryver added a career high with a 14.60. Stanford's Leiberman tallied his seond event title on the night, with a 15.300

The Huskers return to action next weekend in Columbus, Ohio, where they will battle the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. (central).
