Huskers Sign Sanguinetti in Spring Signing Period

Lincoln - The Nebraska baseball program has added one player in the spring signing period as Richard Sanguinetti has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play at Nebraska beginning in the 2011-12 season. Sanguinetti follows an 11-player class that signed during the fall period last November.

Sanguinetti committed to Nebraska out of Texarkana College, where he has played two seasons under former Husker standout Will Bolt * Was named the 2011 Conference Player of the Year, hitting .388 in league play with three home runs, six doubles, four triples and 21 RBIs * Hit .306 with 11 doubles and 15 RBIs as a junior for the Bulldogs * Finished his high school career by hitting .448 while setting career school records for hits, batting average, RBIs, doubles and triples * Named to the 2009 North Texas All-Star Team while also earning All-District honors.
