Dear Husker Volleyball Supporters,
As we concluded another year of Husker volleyball, I would like to thank you again for your continued support of our program.
The 2011 season was another successful year for Nebraska volleyball as the Huskers clinched their first Big Ten Championship. The 2011 Big Ten title marked the 32nd conference title for Nebraska overall and their first as a member of the Big Ten Conference. It was also the first Big Ten Conference crown for any sport at Nebraska.
In December four Husker volleyball players were honored by the AVCA as 2011 All-Americans. Junior outside hitter Gina Mancuso led the charge as a first-team selection, while junior outside hitter Hannah Werth, sophomore right side hitter Morgan Broekhuis and junior setter Lauren Cook were chosen as honorable-mention selections.
Nebraska continues to lead the nation with 71 AVCA All-America certificates (first, second and third team) by 35 athletes with at least one Husker earning All-America honors in 30 consecutive seasons.
Once again, your support is what makes Nebraska volleyball so special and we look forward to building on this tradition again in the 2012 season. Thank you for proving that there truly is no place like Nebraska.
Go Big Red!
John Cook
