Team USA Finishes with Silver Medal

Lincoln- The United States women's volleyball team and former Husker Jordan Larson finished with the silver medal on Saturday as Team USA fell to Brazil in four sets (25-11, 17-25, 20-25, 17-25) at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Brazil rallied after the first set to dominate the final three sets and bring home a second-consecutive Olympic title.

Larson tallied four kills and four points for the United States in the match.

The Americans started out strong in the first set, dominating the Brazilians with a .440 attack efficiency. The United States rallied in the second set to tie the match at 12, but the Brazilians unleashed a 6-0 run to take command of the set. Team USA's blocking would falter in the third set and a pair of errors by the Americans kept Team USA from gaining any momentum.

Brazil never trailed in the fourth set, as the United States could not recover and the Brazilians took the title. The United States earned silver for the third time, as the Americans lost to Brazil in 2008 and fell to China at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
