Allison McNeal Q&A

Favorite TV show as a kid: Full House

Favorite pro team: As a kid I was a huge fan of the San Antonio Spurs, but after watching the NBA Finals this past summer I enjoy watching the Oklahoma City Thunder as well.

Favorite sports movie: I love all the Rocky movies! Oh yeah, and who doesn't like Space Jam?!

Favorite meal: Steak with a loaded baked potato

Favorite vegetable: I'm not a huge fan of veggies but I'll admit to eating plain ol' spinach leaves with lots of cheese and sunflower seeds.

Favorite workout song: Anything from my favorite band, "Brand New".

Favorite class you've taken: As an elementary education major I'd say my teaching method courses because I love working with kids.

What you would do with a time machine: I would go back in time and spend a day with my Grandpa McNeal. He passed away when I was just a little girl. I'd love to get to know him!

Celebrity crush: I like a lot of musicians. Any guy who can sing or play an instrument has won my heart.

Something a lot of fans wouldn't know about you: I was born without a fully developed hip. I had to get surgery as a baby and the doctors feared I wouldn't be able to walk properly, let alone play sports.

When you're not competing, you like to: I like to just relax and laugh with family and friends. It's all about the little things in life.

Superpower you wish you had: I wish I could fly.

Pregame rituals: I'll be honest, I absolutely hate just sitting there waiting around so I like to drive back to my house for a little bit. I then jam out to music on my drive back. I always tape my fingers.

Best friend on the team: I'm friends with all of my teammates! But, there is only one teammate I knew in high school before I ever even got to Nebraska and that's my girl Hannah Werth!

Best athlete you've competed against: Tough question. Even though we were technically teammates and played with each other, I'd say Jordan Larson. I've been across the net from her quite a few times!

Why you chose Nebraska: It is one of the best volleyball programs in the nation and I knew I could win a national championship here.

Best thing about Nebraska: I'm originally from Iowa, so I love being back in the Midwest. I also love the fact there are actual seasons here.

What you want to do after college: The goal is to become an elementary teacher, but who knows where life will take me!
