A message from John Cook

Dear Husker Fans,

We're at the midway point of the Big Ten season and the Huskers are geared up for a strong finish. After facing our last two opponents on the road, we could not be more anxious to get back to the Coliseum to open the second half of Big Ten play.

The Huskers earned the ninth consecutive win of the season last Sunday as they took down No. 25 Illinois in three sets. Morgan Broekhuis led Nebraska with 10 kills and three aces, while Gina Mancuso and Hannah Werth both had eight kills.

Now we turn our attention to No. 20 Ohio State and No. 1 Penn State this weekend. The Buckeyes will come to Lincoln on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in a special match where we will honor our alumni with a post-match ceremony. The Nittany Lions come to Lincoln on Sunday, Oct. 28 in a match slated for 2 p.m. that will be shown live on the Big Ten Network.

Gina Mancuso was recently recognized nationally for her character and work in the community, classroom and on the court as she was named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award. Fans can vote for their favorite candidate and all Husker fans are encouraged to do so at SeniorClassAward.com.
