Lincoln, Neb.- The No. 57 Nebraska mens tennis team (8-8) fell to No. 7 Ohio State 6-1 Friday, March 29. This puts their conference record 0-3. The Huskers will be seeking their first conference win on Sunday when they face Penn State at home.
Tom Blackwell captured the teams lone victory at the No. 4 singles, with an impressive victory over #43 Connor Smith. Tom fell in the first set , but went on to win the second set and the tie breaker. The final score was 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. Andre Stenger came close to beating #13 Blaz Rola in the first set, but lost in the tie breaker. Andre fell to the 13th ranked player 7-6 (2), 6-1.
"We were beat by a solid team today", said Coach Kerry McDermott. "We didn't play that bad, but they were the better team today. We have to regroup and be ready for Penn State on Sunday."
Next the Huskers will face Penn State this Sunday at the 17th and Vine St. Courts at noon (unless otherwise noted due to weather).
