Nancy Metcalf is playing for Igtisadchi Baku of the Azerbaijan Super League as they lost to Lokomotiv Baku 25-23, 19-25, 25-27, 25-23, 17-15 on April 4. Metcalf tallied a match-high 28 points with 25 kills on 50 attacks, two blocks and an ace. The team sits in second place with 39 points.
Sarah Pavan is playing with Brazil’s Unilever. The top seed in the playoffs, they rallied from two sets down to defeat second-seed Sollys/Nestle 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-9 in the title match on April 7. Pavan had 22 points in the match.
In Puerto Rico, Gina Mancuso led Ponce with 24 points in a five-set loss to Caguas. Tara Mueller had six points in a four-set Juncos loss on April 2. Lauren Cook handed out 13 assists in a three-set victory over Guaynabo for Bayamon on April 3. Mancuso notched 24 points for Ponce in a loss on April 4, as she also recorded 16 points for Ponce on April 6. Bayamon lost in the quarterfinal round on April 7 to Catano, while Ponce lost in the quarterfinals to Humacao on April 6.
