Lincoln - Nebraska's schedule will feature six home duals in its return to wrestling at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in 2013-14.
Coach Mark Manning and the Huskers, who return All-Americans James Green and Robert Kokesh from a team that finished 13th at the 2013 NCAA Championships, will show off the $20 million in renovations in the Devaney Center's new arena at the annual Coaches Clinic on Friday, Nov. 8. NU's annual wrestle-offs/intrasquad duals will follow at 7 p.m.
Nebraska will hit the mat for the first time in regular-season competition at the renovated Devaney Center when the Huskers tangle with the Northwestern Wildcats on Sunday, Nov. 17. Nebraska's clash with the Cats is set for 1 p.m., and will mark the first of three Big Ten home duals for the Huskers.
Following road trips to South Dakota State (Nov. 24), the Stanford Duals (Nov. 30), the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 6-7) and the Reno Tournament of Champions (Dec. 22), the Huskers return to the Devaney Center against Wyoming on Friday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.
The dual with the Cowboys will be the first of four home matches in 16 days for the Huskers, continuing with a Big Ten dual against Indiana on Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. After the conference clash with the Hoosiers, the Huskers will take on traditionally tough Pennsylvania on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Devaney Center.
Nebraska's four-match homestand concludes the following Saturday, when the Huskers go head-to-head with traditional power Iowa. The match with the Hawkeyes is set for 7 p.m., and opens a stretch of five consecutive Big Ten duals.
NU returns to the road to take on Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, Jan. 24, before battling the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday, Jan. 26 in West Lafayette, Ind. The Huskers wrap up a three-match Big Ten road swing by facing the Fighting Illini of Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Champaign.
Nebraska will make its final home appearance of the 2013-14 campaign against Michigan on Friday, Feb. 7. The Senior Night dual with the Wolverines at the Devaney Center is set for 7 p.m.
The Huskers return to Columbus, Ohio for the Cliff Keen/NWCA National Duals, Feb. 16-17, before closing regular-season dual action at Wisconsin on Friday, Feb. 21.
Two weeks later, the Big Red return to Madison, Wis., for the 2014 Big Ten Championships. The 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships will be held at Chesapeake Energy Arena in downtown Oklahoma City, March 20-22.
