Lincoln, Neb. – Nebraska Head Coach Chuck Chmelka announced the 2014 Men's Gymnastics schedule on Wednesday. The Huskers will host the 2014 Big Ten Championships, welcoming the remaining six conference teams to the Devaney Center on March 28-29, 2014.
NU will host two home meets for the 2014 season. The Huskers will welcome Big Ten rivals Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois to the Devaney Center. Also coming to Lincoln will be MPSF competitor Air Force, who will meet Nebraska at the Devaney Center twice in the regular season.
Nebraska will open the 2014 season at the 33rd-annual Rocky Mountain Open on Saturday, Jan. 11, where they will meet Air Force, Oklahoma, Arizona State and members of the U.S. Olympic Training Center. The Huskers will then host the Falcons on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. before starting a five-meet travel schedule.
NU will start in Minneapolis to go head-to-head with the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Feb. 1. Nebraska will continue its stretch on the road, facing Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Feb. 8 and then heading to Iowa City, Iowa, to face Iowa and Minnesota on Feb. 15.
The Huskers will then get a week off before heading to Columbus, Ohio, for the Arnold Cup on Mar. 1, where they will face three Big Ten teams (Iowa, Minnesota and Ohio State) and MPSF's Stanford. NU will finish out their traveling schedule on Mar. 9 in Norman, Okla., where they will face the Sooners.
Nebraska will then return home to host Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Air Force for senior night at the Devaney Center on Mar. 15 at 4 p.m.
The 2014 Big Ten Championships will take place March 28 and 29 at the Devaney Center. Individual qualifiers and team finals will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 28, followed by individual finals competition at 4 p.m. the following day.
The Huskers will hit the road one more time to end the postseason in Ann Arbor, Mich., for the NCAA Championships. Michigan will host the three-day event, which begins with team qualifiers on Thursday, April 10.
