2014 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships

The Nebraska swimming and diving team travels to Minneapolis, Minn., on Wednesday, Feb. 19, to compete at its third Big Ten Championships. The event, featuring seven sessions over four days, will be held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
The opening session is set for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., while the following three days will have preliminary sessions at 11 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. All 12 Big Ten schools will compete at the meet.
Nebraska will aim to improve on last season's ninth-place finish at the conference meet. The Huskers will look to returning top-24 finishers Morgan Flannigan, Shannon Guy, Payton Michaud, Bailey Pons, Taryn Collura, Natalie Morris, Bria Deveaux, Melisa Mexia and Nicole Schwery to help continue the program's upward climb.
The University of Minnesota Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art facility that is nearly two acres in size, boasting a 50-meter competition pool and separate diving well. The venue has hosted eleven Big Ten Championships, seven NCAA Championships (including the 2014 NCAA meet), and many other national and international competitions.

The Big Ten Championships will see NU's eight seniors, Morgan Flannigan, Ashleigh Grammar, Shannon Guy, Payton Michaud, Bailey Pons, Kristin Strecker, Kaitlan Walker and Megan Ziemann competing together in their last conference meet. This senior class has contributed to 25 dual wins, amassing 341 top-five finishes and 100 individual event titles over their careers.
Nebraska ended the regular season with a 4-2 record in dual meets, earning a winning record for the fourth consecutive season under Head Coach Pablo Morales.

Last Time Out: Huskers Conclude Intrasquad Weekend (2/1/14)
Saturday morning's second and final session of the Nebraska swimming and diving team's impromptu intrasquad meet saw six different individual-event victors, as the Huskers concluded their final competition prior to the Big Ten Championships.
Morgan Flannigan (500 free), Erin Oeltjen (200 Back), Katie Ditter (200 Breast), Kelly Dunn (100 free), Bria Deveaux (100 fly) and Julia Roller (400 IM) collected victories for the Huskers on Saturday. The meet also saw Flannigan (1,000 free) and Michaela Cunningham (500 free and 1,000 free) record season-best times.
The 200 medley relay team of Deveaux, Jacqueline Juffer, Shannon Guy and Taryn Collura claimed the session's first relay victory, while the 400 free relay team of Juffer, Guy, Collura and Deveaux won the meet's final event.
