Nebraska wrestler Caleb Kolb earned a degree in communication studies during the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s commencement exercises at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Saturday morning.
Kolb, a Grove City, Pa., native, was the lone grappler from Head Coach Mark Manning's squad to take home a diploma following the spring 2014 semester. He was among 55 student-athlete graduates.
Kolb, a four-year letterwinner, collected several accolades during his time at Nebraska, and was named to the 2014 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. In 2013, Kolb won the Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award as a junior.
He was also named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll during the spring 2013 semester. In addition, Kolb earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall of 2009 and 2010.
On the mat, Kolb finished his career with a 46-42 record, spending his last two seasons at 197 pounds after competing at 174 pounds during his first two seasons. He qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2013.
