The NTCA top-rated Nebraska women’s bowling team continues its 2015 regular season on Friday, as the Huskers will travel to the Prairie View A&M Invite held at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington, Texas.
The Huskers will face-off with an extremely-talented 12-team-field during the three-day-tournament. NU will begin competition Friday at noon, with five matches of five baker games and will conclude Sunday morning with Baker pool play, best four out of seven..
Nebraska Head Coach Bill Struab is eager to take the group of NU bowlers back down to Arlington, as Straub mentioned it is one of the team’s favorite tournaments to go to during the regular season.
“This tournament is held at the Olympic training center in Dallas, it is a very nice facility for training and we have had some really great success there in the past,” Straub said. “It is the best field that we have faced so far this season.”
Straub added, “Almost anybody that has had success this season will be there, fortunately at this point the team looks really strong.”
According to Straub, the Huskers have practiced well since falling from first to third at the Mid-Winter Classic Jan. 16-18. The Huskers held a lead of over 450 pins entering the last day of competition before falling to third.
“They have had good practices this week, the team is really bonding together and hopefully we can represent Husker Nation in a great way down there this weekend.”
