East Lansing, Mich. – No. 10 Nebraska (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) cruised to a 33-6 win over Michigan State in its final Big Ten dual of the season at Jenison Field House on Sunday afternoon.
The Huskers won the first eight bouts, and nine of 10 overall, against the Spartans to earn their seventh consecutive dual win of the 2014-15 campaign. No. 10 Tim Lambert (125) got NU started on the right track with his 7-1 decision over Mitch Rogaliner in the opening match.
Eighth-ranked Anthony Abidin (141), No. 4 James Green (157), Austin Wilson (165) and No. 1 Robert Kokesh (174) added bonus points to give the Huskers a commanding lead. Abidin earned his first fall of the season when he pinned Javier Gasca in 4:27. Green used 10 takedowns in his dominating 23-8 technical fall over Travis Curley. Wilson and Kokesh each won by major decision against Matt Pasqualini and Nick Proctor, respectively.
At 133 pounds, Eric Montoya picked up his fifth straight win with a 9-3 decision over Garth Yenter in the second match of the dual. Justin Arthur added a 6-2 decision over Nick Trimble at 149 pounds, while 18th-ranked TJ Dudley (184) notched his seventh consecutive win since Jan. 9 with a 7-3 triumph over John Rizqallah.
In the final match of the dual, No. 17 Collin Jensen won an 8-1 decision over Chris Nash after 15th-ranked Aaron Studebaker lost by defensive fall to Nick Diarmid at 197 pounds.
The Huskers return home to host Stanford for Senior Night on Friday at the Devaney Center. The dual, which starts at 7 p.m. (CT), will be streamed on BTN Plus.
