Huskers Enter National Rankings

The Nebraska women’s tennis team (10-1) entered the ITA Top 75 national rankings today as the Husker squad jumped to No. 53 on the list. The Huskers join seven other Big Ten schools in the national rankings.

The Big Red has earned an impressive 10-1 record on the season, with their first win over a ranked opponent coming last weekend as they out-played No. 51 Denver, 6-1.

“We are really excited to be back in the rankings,” said assistant coach German Dalmagro. “It’s a testament of the hard work the girls have put it. It’s good to be recognized for the season we are having.”

Moving further into the season, the Huskers are excited about more opportunities to make an even bigger splash in the national rankings, as they will face tough Big Ten opponents.

“But as we told our team, now the second half of the season starts, and we still have work to do, and areas to improve on,” continued coach Dalmagro. “Certainly this gives us more motivation to continue to work hard, and the progress we are making is showing each time we compete.”

The Huskers face Georgia State this Friday, March 6 at 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Racquet Club before opening Big Ten play against No. 29 Purdue on Sunday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at the Nebraska Tennis Center. Go Big Red!
