Green Earns Final Spot on U.S. World Team

Fargo, N.D. - James Green swept Nick Marable in two straight matches in a Special wrestle-off to earn the final spot on the U.S. World Team on Saturday.

Green, a four-time All-American at NU, defeated former Missouri wrestler Nick Marable by decision in two straight matches at 70 kg/154 lbs. Green won the first match 4-0 before defeating Marable again in the second match 2-1. Marable defeated Green last year in Fargo to make the World Team before placing eighth at the 2014 World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Marable did not attend weigh-ins at the World Team Trials in June due to an injury, creating a best of three wrestle-off between the two.

Green will represent Team USA at the World Championships in Las Vegas in September.
