Huskers Head Back to Indiana to Face Hoosiers

The No. 8 Nebraska volleyball team continues a four-match road stretch at Indiana on Saturday at 6 p.m. (CT) at University Gym in Bloomington, Ind. The match will not be televised or streamed online.

Nebraska (19-4, 10-3 Big Ten) dominated No. 16 Purdue on Wednesday, 30-28, 25-20, 25-17, in West Lafayette, Ind. The Huskers trailed for just seven rallies all night and just once after the first set. The Huskers held the Big Ten’s top hitting team in conference play to .205 hitting on the night. Nebraska is alone in third place in the Big Ten standings, behind Minnesota (11-1) and Penn State (10-2).

Indiana (13-12, 3-10 Big Ten) will be looking to rebound from a sweep at home at the hands of Iowa on Wednesday night. The Hoosiers fell 19-25, 21-25, 20-25 while hitting .177 for the match. Indiana’s three Big Ten wins have all come at home, against Maryland, Rutgers and Northwestern. Indiana has lost three straight matches by sweep.

Series History: Nebraska is 9-1 all-time against Indiana, including 7-0 since joining the Big Ten. Indiana won the first match of the series back in 1978, but the Huskers have won the other nine meetings, including four straight by sweep. The Huskers own a 4-0 record at Indiana and swept both matches of the season series last year, including 25-11, 25-20, 26-24 in Bloomington on Nov. 19, 2014. John Cook is 19-3 against Indiana in his career, including a perfect 8-0 at Nebraska.

• Sophomore Annika Albrecht leads the Big Ten with 27 service aces. She served six aces in the three-set win over Rutgers last Friday, one shy of the school record for aces in a match.

SCOUTING INDIANA
Indiana is hitting .161 against Big Ten opponents to rank 13th in the conference. The Hoosiers average 1.79 blocks per set for the season, the lowest mark in the Big Ten. Amelia Anderson ranks sixth in the Big Ten with 3.66 kills per set. Megan Tallman adds 9.87 assists per set, and Courtney Harnish provides 3.37 digs per set.
