The No. 11 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team makes its 2016 season debut this Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Open in Colorado Springs, Colo. The competition is hosted by the tenth-ranked Air Force Falcons, and will feature three other teams, including No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 15 Arizona State and No. 19 Washington.
“We are ready to start the season off at the Rocky Mountain Open and begin our quest to the NCAA Championships,” coach Chuck Chmelka said. “We have a great team, with great senior leadership and a very talented group of underclassmen. I am very excited and optimistic about this team and how high they can finish at the NCAA Championships in April.”
The Huskers return 17 gymnasts from last season including All-Americans Grant Perdue, Sam Chamberlain and Ethan Lottman. The team also welcomes three newcomers. Jordan King, Anton Stephenson and Heath Anderson will look to make an immediate impact on this Nebraska squad.
Last year, the Huskers finished third at the Rocky Mountain Open, behind Oklahoma and Air Force.
