Williams to Throw First Pitch on Husker Night at Werner Park

Nebraska women's basketball coach Amy Williams will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for Husker Night with the Storm Chasers at Werner Park on Thursday Night.

Williams, who is entering her first season coaching her alma mater in 2016-17, was invited by the world champion Kansas City Royals Triple-A affiliate to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in advance of the Storm Chasers game with Memphis. Game time with the Redbirds Thursday is set for 6:35 p.m.

Following the first pitch ceremony, a limited autograph session for fans will be held in the concourse behind home plate.

Fans are encouraged to wear red on Husker Night, which will include appearances by other former Nebraska stars across several sports, including football players Tony Veland, Steve Warren, Alfonzo Dennard, Zack Bowman, Ciante Evans, Jamal Turner and Eric Warfield.

Former Nebraska baseball player Brian Duensing, who helped the Huskers to the 2005 College World Series before embarking on a successful Major League career with the Minnesota Twins, is also a current member of the Omaha Storm Chasers roster.

Coach Williams also has announced the dates for Nebraska's 2016 Summer Camps. Registration for the camp is available at https://campscui.active.com/orgs/HuskerwbbCamps.
